The high sugar and water content make them ideal for eating, in salads and for cooking, and excellent for freezing.   Try Fuji apples in stews and baked dished such as pies, cakes, sauces and crumbles.

The Fuji apple originated in Japan, and the skin is very delicate and as such any contact with leaves and limbs while the apple is on the tree will result in a golden yellow mark referred to in the industry as russet.   The marks do not affect the eating quality of the apple however. Fuji apples are available in Australia from mid April to December.
