It is the perfect blend for any salad lover with flavours that range from mildly sweet and tender to bold and peppery. Toss with a favourite dressing and any number of toppings to create salads that taste as good as they look.
Choose mixed leaves that have bright colour and a crisp look. Store the leaves in a tightly sealed plastic container in the fridge for up to one week. If the leaves begin to look moist, wrap them in a paper towel to absorb the excess moisture.
Serving Suggestion: Mixed leaves are a great base for a pear and Gorgonzola salad fit for a royal table. To prepare, dice one medium onion and cook it in olive oil over medium to medium high heat, stirring frequently, until caramelised. De-glaze the pan with two tablespoons balsamic vinegar and set aside to cool. Meanwhile, combine four diced pears, 350g Gorgonzola cheese and six cups mixed leaves in a large bowl. Add the cooled balsamic mixture and two tablespoons olive oil. Toss well and serve immediately.
